If you have ever come back from a conference with a pocket full of business cards, a blurry memory of who you actually talked to, and zero follow-up done, this post is for you.

ConferenceCRM, powered by Alani Insights, is a new kind of CRM built specifically for the way conference networking actually happens: fast, noisy, and human. It does not ask you to open another app or type anything. It lives inside Claude, and it works by voice, by photo, or just by asking.

Here is exactly how it works, and how to get it wired up.

The problem it solves

Think about the last conference you attended. You had great conversations. You collected names. By the time you landed at home, you remembered maybe three of them with any clarity. The rest? Gone.

The usual workarounds are all broken in the same way:

  • Stacking business cards that end up in a drawer
  • Scanning badges with your head down, feeling rude
  • Typing notes on your phone while the person is still standing in front of you
  • Hoping you will remember to do the data entry later (you will not)

ConferenceCRM is designed to eliminate every one of those steps.

How it works

ConferenceCRM is an AI-powered CRM that runs inside Claude. There is no separate app to download, no dashboard to log into, no forms to fill out. You open Claude, which you probably already have, and just talk to it like a teammate. It works in three moves: Connect, Capture, and Cultivate.

1. Connect: always know who you are talking to

ConferenceCRM researches everyone you meet. It pulls their background, professional history, company, and role from the web and the tools you already use, so every name in your pipeline carries the context behind it:

  • Their background and professional history
  • Their company details and context
  • Their role and what they actually do

All of it is enriched and saved before you have even walked away from the conversation. You stay present with the person in front of you, and ConferenceCRM handles the homework, so you reconnect already knowing who they are and what they care about.

2. Capture: log them in seconds

The moment you meet someone, you have two ways to get them in.

Option A: snap a photo of their name badge.

“Hey Claude, here is Marcus’s badge. Add him to ConferenceCRM.”

One photo. That is it. No typing, no scanning apps, no manually hunting down their LinkedIn profile later.

Option B: just say it out loud.

“Hey, I just met Marcus Chen from Acme Ventures. Research him and add him to ConferenceCRM.”

No badge required. If you know their name and company, Claude takes it from there, saving them with your notes, where you met, and why they matter.

3. Cultivate: turn handshakes into relationships

Every contact is stored with full context, and because everything lives inside Claude, you can query it naturally. At the end of the day you could ask:

“Who did I meet today who works in fintech? What did I learn about them?”

And Claude can pull it up, help you draft follow-up messages, or connect the dots between people you have met. More on this: how to follow up after a conference.

What makes it different

Most CRM tools fight your workflow. ConferenceCRM disappears into it.

The tagline says it all: “Every connection you make, captured, researched, and organized in seconds.”

How to connect ConferenceCRM to Claude via MCP

ConferenceCRM works through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard from Anthropic that lets Claude connect to external tools and data. Think of MCP as the universal plug that lets Claude reach into outside systems and actually do things with them, not just chat about them. Your ConferenceCRM data is an AI-native database hosted on the Alani Insights platform, and you connect it to Claude one time as a custom connector.

Step 1: Create your account

Head to conferencecrm.com and sign up. It comes with $20 in free credit and requires no credit card to get started. There is no app to download, just an account.

Step 2: Open your connectors in Claude

In Claude (claude.ai or Claude Desktop), open the Customize / Settings menu and go to Skills & Connectors → Connectors. Click Add custom connector.

Step 3: Add the Alani Insights connector

Name it Alani Insights and paste the MCP server URL:

https://mcp.alaniinsights.com

Click Save, complete the authentication, and set the tool permissions so it can create records, update records, and more. Once connected, you can open the “Search and tools” menu in any chat to confirm the tools are live.

Step 4: Kick it off

In your first chat, just say “Save to Alani Insights” to set things up, or jump straight in:

“I just met Sarah Okonkwo from Benchmark Capital. Research her and save her to my ConferenceCRM.”

If everything is connected, Claude will call the ConferenceCRM tools, research Sarah, and confirm the contact was saved, all in a single response.

Real-world examples at a conference

Once you are set up, this is what actual usage looks like.

At the event:

“I met James Wu, he runs product at Stripe. Add him to ConferenceCRM and note that we talked about API monetization.”

On the flight home:

“Who did I meet at the conference from Series B startups?”

The next morning:

“Draft a follow-up email to everyone I met yesterday who works in climate tech.”

No context lost. No cards in a drawer. No cold leads.

Who should be using this

ConferenceCRM is ideal for:

  • Founders and sales reps who attend multiple conferences a year and need every warm lead to count
  • Investors meeting dozens of founders at a single event
  • Recruiters at industry conferences building candidate pipelines
  • BD and partnerships teams who live and die by their network
  • Anyone who comes back from events with good intentions and zero follow-through

If you have ever thought “I should really stay in touch with that person” and then did not, this is built for you.

The bottom line

ConferenceCRM is one of those tools that makes you feel like you wasted years doing things the hard way. It strips the friction from the highest-value, lowest-capture moment in professional life: the in-person meeting.

You do not have to remember to use it. You do not have to carve out time to update it. You just talk to Claude like you already do, and your network builds itself.
